Jack Barber, Tim Ward, and Sam Wilson founded our company in 2011 with a clear vision: to bring the unique flair of Cuba Street and the professional hospitality standards of Wellington City to the Victoria University Kelburn campus.
The Hunter Lounge has refined and evolved over the years to become the premium student bar in New Zealand and a multi purpose venue that has hosted massive music shows, romantic weddings, countless cultural performances, fiercely competitive quizzes, wild drag shows, informative conferences and fantastic balls & parties.
Jack & Angelica
For the past decade, Jack has been joined by his partner, Angelica, in running the business. They both work behind the bar five days a week, balancing their commitment to the business with raising their family. Angelica oversees the daily operations of the bar, while Jack manages all event bookings, from initial inquiry to final invoice.
They love the social aspect of working with a great team and meeting so many amazing customers from fresher first years to retirement parties of people who worked at the university for decades.
