We can host parties all year round. When we are operating as a bar parties on week nights need to start after 8pm and have less set up time.

Room Setup: Correctly configuring the room to match your exact number of guests is essential for comfort and flow.

Atmosphere and Entertainment: We highly recommend incorporating professional lighting and entertainment, such as a band or a DJ, to enhance the guest experience.

Food Availability: Ensuring an ample amount of food is readily available to all guests is crucial for responsible service and helps prevent excessive intoxication.

Security: If needed, having a security guard present ensures the safety and well-being of all attendees throughout the event.

Yes, our license allows under 18 year olds to come in. Some events that are not appropriate for children will be run as R18.

We are based inside Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University's Kelburn campus. We are located in the Student Union Building (SUB)  Level 3. The best entry is Level 4 of the SUB beside VUWSAs office. Then drop down a level by the stairs or lift. Or come in Level 1 of the SUB and take the stairs or lift up to Level 3.

For Parties we typically begin with a selection of canapés as guests arrive, followed by a late-evening service of pizzas, fries, and sweets.

We are also flexible and can accommodate other catering options, including a full dinner service. Furthermore, we allow outside caterers to operate within our venue, ensuring you have complete flexibility to arrange the exact menu you desire for your guests.

Like the rest of the university, parking is very hard to find while the classes are operating. After 6pm and on weekends there are a lot of free parks inside gate 1 and gate 7 of the university. There is also parking on Kelburn Parade, Salamanca Road and Waiteata Road.

We have several amenities and pieces of equipment available on-site that can enhance your upcoming event.

For entertainment, we offer:

• A photo booth that prints photo strips and emails digital copies to guests.

• Three pool tables, which are perfect for smaller parties.

• A table tennis table and a darts board that can be set up upon request.

• For presentations and speeches, we provide a large screen and three wireless microphones.

We will work with you to decide if security is needed for your event. If there is any doubt it’s best to have a guard present. We use Immortal Protection who are Wellington's best bar, event and party security.

Driving/Ride-share:

Please direct your taxi, Uber, or DiDi to Gate 3 of Victoria University of Wellington's Kelburn campus. Public buses also stop at this location. From Gate 3 walk into the University, Enter the Student Union Level 4 and come down one level. 

Walking/Biking:

We are a short walk or bike ride uphill from The Terrace or Cuba Street. There are plenty of bike parks available outside Level 4 of our building.
